  The falls lie on a geological contact between Devonian granodiorite, Basaltic volcanics, and Ordovician metasediments. Include many rare geomorphic features and have a total fall of approximately 25m over a horizontal distance of 50-60m. Unfortunantley, despite the presence of government (public road/s) to access the site, these are gated off by the farm owners (mainly owned by Pastoral companies with Toorak address'). Local farmers allow sheep onto riparian land to graze and defecate (illegal), like many parts of the Coliban and Campaspe Rivers. These farm can not be cropped and produce almost nothing; contributing little to local economies. While the PMAV fights to access land for prospecting, much scientifically important land is locked up and unprotected in the hands of Victorian cocky's. A disgrace based on Land Acts two hundred years old when this land was first stolen from First Australians. Contact your local members to protect and share in these beautiful wonders.
